Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party's Edwin Sifuna lost his cool as he hit out at ODM ally during a live TV interview, as he addressed the possibility of being relieved of his duties as the Secretary General of ODM party.
Sifuna was speaking on the decision by some ODM party leaders to accept nominations by President William Ruto into the Cabinet.
He claimed that the ODM Party did not make the decision to join Ruto's proposed Broad-Based Government, and that he was surprised to see some of the ODM leaders being named in Ruto's list of new Cabinet Secretaries.
Sifuna claimed that he was aware of the decision that was made by the party's leadership, adding that some MPs from the party should not make him look like he was not speaking for the party when he said that whoever will accept Ruto's nomination will do so as an individual.
It is at this point that the ODM Secretary General claimed that he is not afraid of the consequences of standing with the people.
He said that he is not afraid of anyone, and that if the party will deem it right to remove him from the position of Secretary General over his decision, then so be it.
"I am not afraid of Gen Zs. I am not afraid of Raila and I am not afraid of Ruto. In fact, the day I start speaking for myself, I shouldbe relieved of my duties," Sifuna said.
It was after the remarks that Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda wondered whether Sifuna's political career was hitting the block. Ojienda claimed that Sifuna seemed to be speaking on his own and not for the party, leaving the ODM SG furious.
"Sifuna seems to be pulling in a different direction because he seems to be speaking a different language from the four leaders. I wonder if I would be speaking the same language if he were the designated party party SG," Ojienda said before Sifuna cut short his speech.
"No I would not. I am not like you boss," a furious Sifuna replied.
