Belgut Member of Parliament (MP) Nelson Koech revealed an investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the breach of Parliament on June 25 and burned down a section of the building.
Speaking on Citizen TV's show, the belgut MP mentioned that parliamentary security is collaborating with the National Police Service to collect evidence through CCTV footage and witness testimonies.
Koech clarified that while no formal parliamentary probe has been launched, efforts are being made to gather crucial evidence. This announcement comes as questions arise about potential security failures within the legislative building.
The MP also expressed confidence in President William Ruto's dedication to holding anyone involved in criminal activities during the protests accountable, including police officers. Koech emphasized the President's willingness to take broad measures, even removing culpable officers if necessary.
"My role as an MP is to invite the relevant agencies to explain to the public what transpired and address IPOA's requests for information from the police," Koech stated.

The breach led to the tragic shooting of unarmed peaceful protesters outside Parliament buildings, raising concerns about the lack of action over a month later. President Ruto has vowed to conduct thorough investigations to apprehend the "criminals" responsible for attacking and setting fire to Parliament, the Judiciary, and Nairobi County Government offices.
He suggested that the attackers targeted the armory and the mausoleum within the parliamentary premises.
This investigation aims to bring justice and ensure accountability for the events that unfolded during the protests.
