A family is in mourning after their kin was sexually assaulted and brutally murdered in Kipeyok, Loikas village, Maralal.
According to official reports, the mother of four was attacked by unknown people while returning home after conducting business in Maralal town.
Silvana Loroto, the sister of the late Rose Napeyok, has urged the government to apprehend the perpetrators who remain at large. This horrifying event is part of a disturbing trend in the area, with five women recently attacked and two raped, specifically in a bush near the Samburu County Commissioner's office.
County investigating officer Martin Omumbo confirmed his office has received reports of two such attacks and that investigations are ongoing. Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda has condemned the incident and calls for swift justice for the victims.
