Renowned Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi shared his views on suicide, challenging the common perception that it is a selfish act.
Mwangi, known for his fearless activism and advocacy for social justice, emphasized that individuals who choose to end their lives are not acting out of selfishness. Instead, he suggests they have reached a point where life's challenges and expectations become overwhelming, leading them to make a deeply personal decision.
“There is nothing selfish about suicide,” Mwangi stated. “Someone gets to a stage in life, and they decide this is it for them. They’re ready for the next world. The pain, troubles, and expectations of others in this world are too much. They exit the stage. Celebrate their life. End of story,” He added.

Boniface Mwangi's Wife Responds
Boniface Mwangi's wife, Njeri, has finally issued a statement on social media in response to concerns raised about her husband's condition. This follows shortly after he posted a concerning message about the act of self-deletion.
Mwangi wrote a cryptic post revealing that he was having suicidal thoughts and then deactivated his social media pages. "There is nothing selfish about self-deleting. Someone reaches a point in life, and decides this is it for them. They are ready for the next world. The pain, troubles, and expectations of others in this world are too much. They leave the stage. Celebrate their life. End of the story," he wrote last week on Facebook before disappearing online.
Njeri Mwangi, Boniface Mwangi's wife, has expressed her gratitude to those who have reached out with concern. She apologized for not being able to respond to the numerous calls and messages, stating that they are touched by the overwhelming support from friends and fans.
However, Njeri did not provide details about her husband's current condition, instead asking for patience. Boniface, known for his vocal presence online, deactivated all his social media accounts shortly after posting a cryptic message that left his followers worried.
Mwangi has been facing significant attacks from pro-government bloggers, especially during the height of anti-government protests.
