Police officers have launched a probe into the death of an elderly woman in Rongo town.
Salim Fundi, Rongo sub-county police chief, said that the deceased, 77-year-old Peninna Mungari, had just stepped out of a car to answer a short call when she fell.
Fundi stated that other passengers hurried her to Rongo Sub County Hospital for treatment, but she died upon arrival.

He stated that the deceased's body had been transported to the Rosewood Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy and police inquiries.
The sub-county police commander stated that they have yet to determine the cause of death but assume that the deceased may have had underlying medical concerns.
