Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traore is now under heightened protection by special forces following multiple failed assassination attempts. These repeated threats to his life comes after he has made huge changes in Burkina Faso for instance preventing gold from being exported out of the country. "Our resources will remain for us and our population," President Traore.

Most people in Burkina Faso allege that some of the western countries such as France are behind the assassination attempts.

It is alleged that the same forces that stirred civil unrest in the Congo and Darfur, the ones responsible for Lumumba's death, and the creation of ISIS are the same forces behind Ibrahim's attrocities.
