Beatrice Chebet won gold in the 10,000-meter at 30:43.25 in the Paris Olympics, becoming the first Kenyan to win the race.
This comes a few days after she outpaces Faith Kipyegon to win gold in Tuesday's women's 5,000-meter race.
Other Kenya representatives Margret Chelimo and Lilian Kasait, who kept Chebet company throughout the race seemingly as a show of solidarity, faded off to finish fourth and fifth respectively.
Chebet's heroics increased Kenya's medal tally to six, and among them now are two gold medals.
Kenya had not won the race and only close in the 2012 and 2016 Games when Sally Kipyegon and Vivian Cheruiyot claimed silver respectively.
