Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has highlighted the numerous benefits that will follow the elevation of Eldoret town to city status on August 15. Speaking in Eldoret after a meeting with the business community, Bii emphasized that the new city status will attract investors both locally and internationally.

"We are focused on the opportunities that city status will bring. We anticipate attracting investors from around the world. It's important that we position ourselves so that the global community recognizes our presence," the governor remarked.

Bii also mentioned that the city status will strengthen relationships with other cities globally and with donors, leading to increased funding for infrastructural development. Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming event on Thursday, which will be attended by several dignitaries, including President William Ruto.
