A 63-year-old man drowned in a water-filled quarry on Tuesday in Kathambaiconi village in Kagaari South, Runyenjes Constituency.
Confirming the incident, Kwa Njagi area Senior Chief Daniel Ndwiga said they were forced to abandon rescue efforts due to lack of necessary equipment.
“We were forced to temporarily abandon the operation on Tuesday but we resume on Wednesday morning,” Ndwiga said.
Further, Ndwiga urged residents to exercise caution around water-filled pits, which pose a danger.
