Police in Siaya County are investigating an incident in which the body of a 42-year-old man was found lying beside the road at Ulore village in South East Alego location on Sunday afternoon.
Confirming the incident, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the man’s body was discovered by villagers who raised the alarm after he was found lying unresponsive.
He revealed that the incident was reported to the Kogelo police station by the area village elder, George Yewa, who told the police that there was a lifeless body sighted alongside the road within his village.
Further, he said that an officer from Kogelo police station rushed to the scene and found the body while still lying beside the road.
Mr Kimaiyo said that preliminary investigations have established that the deceased, who is a resident of the nearby Kosema village, had left home on Saturday but never returned.

Additionally, he revealed that the deceased’s wife said her husband had left home at around 10.00 am, saying he was going to the barber at the nearby Dondi trading center.
The body was moved to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary to await postmortem as investigations begin to ascertain the cause of death.
