Moses Wetangula, the Speaker of the National Assembly, is facing a lawsuit over an alleged unpaid debt of Ksh. 281,000.
The dispute, filed by Isoka Bethwel in the Small Claims Court, centers around an agreement to supply two German Shepherd dogs and related training services.
Bethwel claims that Wetangula had contracted him to provide two male German Shepherds and various dog supplies, including four packs of Brave Active dog food, training sleeves, leashes, choke chains, grooming brushes, a nail cutter, five liters of dog shampoo, and five liters of kennel disinfectant. The total cost amounted to Ksh. 348,100.

According to the court documents, an initial payment of Ksh. 100,000 was made, but Bethwel asserts that the remaining Ksh. 248,100 remains unpaid.
He alleges that despite multiple attempts to recover the balance, Wetangula has refused to settle the debt, reportedly responding rudely and stating that he would not pay the remaining amount.
Bethwel argues that the situation has caused him significant psychological distress and that he risks losing the remaining balance if the court does not intervene. He is now seeking legal action to recover the total amount owed.
Wetangula has not yet made any public statements regarding the allegations.
