Police in Rongai, Nakuru County, have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a series of "brutal murders," marking what they describe as a "significant breakthrough."

Ezekiel Mwangi, who has been under police surveillance, is accused of orchestrating several horrific crimes.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mwangi is suspected of defiling and murdering five-year-old Alice Ayuma Blessing on July 14, 2024, before dumping her body in a maize plantation in the Mwangaza area.

The DCI further alleges that on August 7, 2024, in Kalyet, he killed 34-year-old Mueni Mwalimu by striking her head with a blunt object and stabbing her in the stomach.

Additionally, Mwangi is accused of raping and murdering 28-year-old Moraa Mugambi on August 8, 2024, at Mustard Seed in Kiamunyi, near the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway. The suspect reportedly attacked her with a rungu, resulting in fatal head injuries.

Mwangi is currently being held at Menengai Police Station and is awaiting arraignment.
