The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime, Hassan Joho, recently uploaded a video on his X (formerly Twitter) account showing him touring Mombasa County to become acquainted with it.

In the video, Joho highlighted the improvements being made in the blue economy and pledged to stand up for those who work in it. Kenyans, meanwhile, are incensed at his comments. Many Kenyans believe that Joho's familiarization tour is unnecessary.

Since Joho served as Mombasa County's governor for eleven years, many people believe he is already familiar with the county's issues. Some Kenyans have taken to social media to express their frustration and have accused Joho of embezzling state monies.

They argue that he shouldn't be required to reacquaint himself with the county he served as governor of for ten years. In the released film, Joho talked about the developments in the blue sector, which includes fishing, coastal tourism, and marine transportation.

He emphasized the importance of the blue economy to Mombasa's growth and pledged to ensure the protection and well-being of those employed in the industry.

However, instead of applauding his efforts, many Kenyans have expressed their disapproval. Some have asked him to stop wasting time on what seems to be a meaningless tour and instead dedicate it to more pressing issues.
