Renowned lawyer Danstan Omari reportedly explained why Governor Kawira Mwangaza could be re-elected in 2027. This statement comes just days after the High Court prevented the Senate from impeaching her.

In an exclusive interview with Spice FM on Friday morning, Omari described Kawira as a savvy politician who understands her roles well. He even stated that Kawira's action could stun Meru MCAs.

According to Danstan Omari, some politicians in Meru County are eyeing Governor Kawira Mwangaza's position. However, the lawyer revealed that their lack of a clear strategy has led them to use MCAs to do their bidding. This situation presents a potential for change in the county's political landscape.

Governor Kawira Mwangaza of Meru has been reinstated following the High Court's decision to halt her impeachment. This ruling temporarily suspends the current efforts to remove her from office, enabling her to return to her role as the county's chief executive.

The female governor faced possible dismissal due to serious allegations linked to power abuse. He has flatly refuted every accusation, arguing that it is entirely political in nature. Regarding her return to office, individuals in Meru County and around Kenya have diverse viewpoints.

The judge emphasized the value of due process and a fair trial, stating that further investigation was necessary into the issues raised against the governor before taking drastic measures, such as impeachment. This commitment to thorough investigation ensures that justice is being served.

Since she was elected as an independent in 2022, it has been hard for her to get along with the County Assembly, which is mostly made up of people from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and other political groups.

It has often led to arguments whenever she has tried to assert her power. The impeachment motions are the most important example of this ongoing conflict.
