Police officers in Lodiani are investigating an incident in which a man is accused of killing his wife and attempting to poison his one-year-seven-month-old baby on Friday night in Ndhiwa village.
According to a police report, the man, identified as Shadrack Malel, murdered his wife, identified as Sharon Chepkirui, 22, in their rental house.
The report also shows that the duo had a scuffle in the house before the suspect strangled his wife using a motorcycle brake clutch wire.
The container of the poison he tried to give his baby was found at the scene.
However, the child was rescued, rushed to Londiani sub-county hospital, and discharged in stable condition.
