Israeli forces conducted one of the most extensive raids in the occupied West Bank in recent months, killing ten Palestinians in areas such as Jenin and Tulkarm.
Backed by helicopters, drones, and armored vehicles, the raid resulted in the deaths of at least 10 Palestinians. This operation is part of a broader effort by Israel to counteract rising militant activities in these regions, mainly from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah factions.
The raid occurred amidst increasing tensions on multiple fronts, with Israeli forces also engaged in conflict with Hamas in Gaza and facing threats from Iranian-backed Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
According to a military spokesperson, over 150 attacks have been launched from Tulkarm and Jenin in the past year, justifying the intensified Israeli operations. The military stated that the operation aimed to neutralize immediate threats to civilians.
In Jenin, gunfire and explosions were reported, especially around the densely populated refugee camp, a known stronghold for militant groups, in one incident outside Jenin, a drone strike targeted and killed three militants.
The Palestinian health ministry reported that Israeli troops blocked access to Jenin's main hospital, a move the military said was to prevent militants from taking refuge.
The West Bank has seen escalating violence since the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza began nearly 11 months ago. More than 660 Palestinians, including fighters and civilians, have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, while 30 Israelis have died in attacks during this period.
The conflict, which erupted on October 7 with a deadly Hamas attack on southern Israel, continues to cause widespread destruction and loss of life, with international efforts to broker a ceasefire ongoing.
