A Kenol Law Court has fined a 28-year-old man Kes 70,000 by a Kenol court for having 90gms bhang materials with a street value of Kes 1000.
Appearing before resident Magistrate Jackinda Rennah, Peter Kariuki Irungu was accused of being found in possession of 150gms of unprocessed bhang, which was not a medical prescription, on August 31 in the Itaaga, Maragua constituency.
Additionally, he was found with materials used to make bhang rolls.
The court heard that on the said date at 3 p.m., the assistant chief of the Itaaga sub-location, while on patrol with the chief of the Kamumu location, received a tip-off from public members that the accused person was peddling bhang.
Prosecutor Brian Ng’ang’a revealed that they proceeded to his rented house and conducted a search. They found the materials used to make bhang in a red bag hidden in his mattress.
