The body retrieved from river Yala has been identified as that of a secondary school teacher from Kakamega.

29-year-old Nicholas Kipkorir Ng’etich was a secondary school teacher from Emalindi Girls’ High School who was reported missing on 10 August.

The body was discovered at Ndanu Falls on August 27, 2024, and he is believed to have been abducted and murdered before being dumped in the river.

His colleagues, led by Cornelius Chumba, confirmed that the body was in a state of advanced decomposition, indicating a brutal murder.

Family members, including his uncle Samuel Rotich, expressed their grief over the loss of a promising young graduate and called for thorough investigations by security agencies to ensure justice is served.

Ng’etich’s tragic death has sparked calls for accountability and a closer examination of the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and murder.
