Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will commence on October 22 and conclude on November 22.
TSC Chief Executive Officer (TSC) Nancy Macharia also announced that the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will begin on October 28 and end on November 20, while the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations between October 28 and October 31, 2024.
Further, she has directed all Sub-county Directors of Education to vet and nominate center managers, supervisors, and invigilators ahead of the commencement of national examinations in October.
In a circular dated August 30, Macharia directed the education Sub-county directors to comply with the directive and submit necessary details about successful candidates on the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal by October 11.
"In preparation for the administration of these examinations and assessments, KNEC will require the details of all the centre managers, supervisors and invigilators who will be engaged in the activity.”

Additionally, she urged the Sub-county education directors to ensure, among other things, that the successful candidates are selected according to specific guidelines.
She emphasized the importance of appointing teachers who are qualified, employed, and registered by the TSC.
She also instructed that supervisors and invigilators be assigned to examination centers in which they have no personal interest.
"Centre managers will be required to verify supervisors and invigilators posted in their centres by confirming their details and workstation. They will be required to take attendance on a daily basis; The teachers in schools with learners of Stage-Based Pathway will invigilate their own learners. For every 10 learners, there should be one invigilator. These invigilators will be required to sign the declaration form like other centres. No supervisor or Centre Manager will be deployed for KILEA Centres," Macharia said.
According to Macharia, hosting centers must have their center managers who will be expected to collect and return examination materials from the container.
