National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has intensified his political rhetoric, urging President William Ruto to remain steadfast amidst growing challenges.
Speaking during a church service in Embakasi West, Nairobi County, Ichung’wah referenced a Biblical passage, likening the president's struggles to Apostle Paul's.
Citing Acts 3:28, Ichung’wah compared Paul's shipwreck experience in Malta, where a snake coiled around his hand while he built a fire, to the economic crisis President Ruto inherited.

He suggested that, just as Paul faced danger, the president has encountered numerous obstacles in his leadership journey.
Ichung’wah encouraged President Ruto to ignore political distractions and focus on his commitments to the country. He emphasized that the president should "shake off" these metaphorical obstacles, not just for his benefit, but to ensure he can fulfill his promises to the nation.
The Kikuyu MP has consistently voiced concerns over individuals within the government whom he believes are hindering Ruto's progress. His recent remarks have been interpreted as indirect criticism of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua amid growing political tension within the Mt. Kenya region.
Rumors have circulated suggesting that Gachagua has been rallying support from regional leaders, alleging that some individuals are attempting to distance him from President Ruto.
Ichung’wah's statements come amidst these reports, further fueling speculation about the internal dynamics within the government.
