Machakos police are looking into an incident in which a man in Mwala, Machakos County, allegedly chopped off his manhood and drove himself to the hospital.

On Sunday night, 21-year-old Alex Muthini Mwanzia is reported to have entered Masii Level III hospital with pieces of his chopped manhood wrapped in a nylon bag.

According to Mwala Subcounty Police Commander Nancy Jerobon, the incident was reported as a self-inflicted assault on Monday to Masii Police Station.

Jerobon told the Star on Monday, "He took himself to Masii Level 3 hospital where he was referred to Machakos Level 5 hospital for further treatment."


Waza had a phone conversation with the head of police.

The victim's motivation for the incident, according to her, is still unknown.

On Sunday night, around midnight, the victim entered the facility.

"He was heavily bleeding when he arrived at the hospital. We took care of him and then took him in a county government ambulance to Machakos Level 5 hospital, a source told the Star.

He claimed that during a search, pieces of the chopped manhood were found wrapped in a nylon bag inside the man's pockets.

The man claimed to have chopped off his own manhood. When he entered the facility to receive treatment, he was by himself, he claimed.
