Police in Migori County have launched an investigation into a fire that engulfed the county assembly store on Wednesday evening. The blaze began at around 6 p.m., according to Suna East Sub County police commander Ezekiel Kiche. Preliminary findings suggest that a county assembly employee was burning waste at a designated collection point when the flames spread to the store.

Kiche reported that the makeshift store was fully consumed by the fire before the county's firefighting team managed to extinguish it. The value of the damaged property has yet to be determined, he added.
