A Laikipia man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of a man after a dispute.
According to the Nanyuki High Court, The suspect committed the crime on May 19, 2015, in the Kimagandura neighborhood of Laikipia.
The prosecution, led by Jackson Motende and Esther Kimani, presented evidence that demonstrated without question that the suspect was responsible for the savage murder.

"In issuing the sentence, the court further observed that the accused showed no remorse for his actions. It was also noted that the manner in which he killed the deceased was particularly barbaric," the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said in a statement on X.
"Additionally, the court acknowledged the severe impact the death had on the victim's family, particularly as the deceased had been the breadwinner."
Justice A.K. Ndungu then gave the judgment, which sentenced the suspect to a lengthy prison term.
