In a bold and contentious post on his X account, Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua voiced his support for the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, citing grave concerns over tribalism and corruption. In his post titled "MOTION: WHY RIGATHI MUST GO!!", Mutua expressed frustration with Gachagua's actions, which he claims are damaging the unity and integrity of the country.
"No one chooses their tribe before birth. As a nation, we must reject the divisive tribal rhetoric that fuels inequality, ethnic tension, and hatred," Mutua wrote. He called for Kenyans to stand together against divisive politics, declaring, "We must say enough is enough."

Mutua accused Gachagua of inciting unrest and violence while benefiting from corrupt activities. "These actions contradict the values of our Maendeleo Chap Chap Party and the ruling coalition," he said.
He also emphasized the wider impact of Gachagua's alleged actions, noting, "Tribalism and corruption have long been Africa's curse. Kenya cannot go backwards. We are one country, one people, and that will not change."
Framing the impeachment as a moral necessity rather than a political move, Mutua stressed that it is crucial for "saving Kenya's soul." He ended his statement with the phrase, "Kweli, MBELLE IKO SAWA," signifying a collective push towards a unified and corruption-free Kenya.
