This press briefing comes amid mounting pressure as Gachagua faces allegations that could lead to his ouster. The charges include accusations of sowing ethnic division, undermining the presidency, violating his oath of office, and breaching the National Cohesion and Integration Act.

The impeachment motion, introduced by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse on October 1, also accuses Gachagua of illegally acquiring Ksh 5.2 billion in assets through corrupt practices.

Other charges involve inciting public opposition against Nairobi County's directives, engaging in gross misconduct, and using bullying tactics.

After gaining the backing of 291 lawmakers, the motion moved to the public participation phase across all 47 counties. Gachagua is set to face trial on Tuesday, with his defense led by prominent attorney Paul Mwite.
