Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has strongly criticized the upcoming impeachment debate slated for Tuesday, dismissing the motion brought forward by MP Mwengi Mutuse as a collection of fabrications and baseless accusations. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Gachagua denied the allegations of corruption and fraudulent property acquisition, affirming that he would defend himself before the National Assembly.

He characterized the claims as "outrageous and unfounded propaganda" designed to damage his reputation and force him out of office.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has come to the defense of his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, who was named in the impeachment motion against him. Speaking during a media briefing, Gachagua criticized the inclusion of the Dorcas Rigathi Foundation in the motion, calling it "an attempt to drag my family into the mud."

He emphasized his wife's positive contributions, stating, "Every Kenyan is aware of the work Dorcas Rigathi has done for the boy child in this country." He further explained that the funds his wife received were donations from well-wishers.

Gachagua also clarified that even when adding all the money from his estate, the total amount would still be under Ksh 2 billion. Sarcastically, he remarked that he was eager to see how the hearing would unfold, as the allegations lacked evidence.
