The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has shortlisted 14 candidates for its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following a recruitment process initiated on September 17, 2024.

The Commission advertised the vacancy in local newspapers, and the application deadline was set for October 7, 2024.

From 172 applicants representing all 47 counties, EACC narrowed down the list to 14 finalists. The shortlisted candidates include Stephen Maisha Ngowa (Kitui), Doreen Nkatha Muthaura (Isiolo), Jackson Kaunda Mue (Machakos), Joseph Vincent Onyango (Nairobi), and Paul Ndemo Maina (Kisii). Others are Victor Omari Okongo (Siaya), Peter Lokol Lomulen (Turkana), Obadiah Kipkoech Keitany (Baringo), John Tentemo Ole Moyaki (Kajiado), and David Kiplagat Ruto Too (Uasin Gishu). Also shortlisted are Abdi Mohamed Mohamud (Garissa), Justa Wawira Mwangi (Embu), Mohamed Abdul Mmaka (Lamu), and Waweru Karanja (Laikipia).

EACC has scheduled interviews for the candidates at the Public Service Commission House, Nairobi, between November 19 and 21, 2024. The first group, Ngowa, Muthaura, Mue, Onyango, and Maina, will be interviewed on November 19. Okongo, Lomuleni, Keitany, Moyaki, and Too will face the panel on November 20, while the remaining four—Mohamud, Mwangi, Mmaka, and Karanja—will be interviewed on November 21.

Candidates must bring national ID cards, academic and professional certificates, and clearance documents from KRA, DCI, HELB, and CRB.

They must also provide a self-declaration form from the EACC, recognition letters for foreign degrees, and relevant recommendation letters.

The public has been invited to submit any relevant information on the candidates to EACC by November 11. The new CEO will succeed Twalib Mbarak, whose six-year term ends in January 2025.
