Narcotics valued at over Ksh.176.5 million were incinerated at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) National Forensic Laboratory after a court ruling. Senior Principal Magistrate Njeri Thuku oversaw the destruction, which included drugs such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, amphetamine, atilafetamine, cannabis, and flunitrazepam.

Key figures at the event included DCI Deputy Director John Onyango, Allan Mulama from the Director of Public Prosecution's Office, Anti-Narcotics Unit Director Samuel Laboso, Director of Liaison and Corporate Communications John Marete, and officers from the Government Chemist.

Following the destruction, Onyango emphasized that the act demonstrated a strong commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and abuse. "Each gram of these destroyed drugs means lives have been saved," he stated, praising the collaborative efforts of all involved parties.

Magistrate Thuku commended the DCI’s work in protecting the country, noting that such actions aim to create safer communities and ensure public safety. The drugs had been seized by anti-narcotics officers during separate operations.
