Prof. Kithure Kindiki has officially taken office as Kenya's third Deputy President, completing the swearing-in ceremony led by Chief Justice Martha Koome at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
The event followed the guidelines set out in Kenya’s Assumption of Office Act, with Prof. Kindiki pledging his commitment to his role by taking both the oath of allegiance and the oath of due execution of the office.
The oaths were signed by Prof. Kindiki, countersigned by Chief Justice Koome, and sealed by court officials before being transferred to the Attorney General for official recordkeeping. In a ceremonial gesture, President William Ruto presented the Kenyan Constitution to Deputy President Kindiki, marking the formal transfer of duties.
