A suspected leopard has mauled more than ten sheep in Moigutwo and Kaptumo sub-locations in Baringo Central Sub County, causing losses.
Confirming the incident, Talai Location Chief Thomas Chepyegon said that a resident near Kabirmet Hill sighted the leopard, which killed and removed organs after it killed a sheep within the neighborhood.
He revealed that nearly five households have had their animals killed by the rogue cat who has been roaming the area for some days, noting that the number could rise following numerous complaints of missing livestock.
He said that locals are now living in fear following yesterday’s discovery of four dead sheep at Kasar village belonging to two families.
“The sheep, which include young ones, were killed at night in their enclosures when everyone was fast asleep,” said Chepyegon.
