Police arrested a 25-year-old man on Tuesday evening after the decomposing body of his wife was found inside his house in Kasisit, Baringo County.

Confirming the incident, Baringo North OCPD Mohamed Abdi said police apprehended Dennis Kipsang after neighbors were disturbed by a foul smell from his house.

They broke in and discovered the decomposing body of 21-year-old Sharon Chelagat, with a wire around her neck.

Further, he said preliminary reports indicate the man killed Chelagat five days ago, allegedly motivated by a love triangle.

The suspect, a watchman at Kabiyewo Primary School, is now in police custody and awaiting prosecution.

He is detained at Kabarnet police station while the deceased body is preserved at Baringo County referral mortuary.

The suspect, aged 25, is suspected to have killed Sharon, the mother of his child.

It's alleged that the two had disagreed over Sharon’s suspected love affair with a police officer stationed in the area.

Seeing things were out of order, she asked for forgiveness to return to her matrimonial home.

Denis accepted. Little did she know the danger awaiting her.

On the fateful night, the husband offered to cook dinner but he poisoned the meal. When the poison could not kill her, he is said to have strangled her.
