Safaricom’s Sambaza Furaha Caravan Brings Joy to Mt. Kenya Region
The Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan continued its journey through the Mt. Kenya region on its second day, making stops in Othaya, Mukurweini, Karatina, Gatitu, Giakanja, and concluding in Nyeri Town. The initiative is part of Safaricom’s 24th-anniversary celebrations, offering customers exciting giveaways and a chance to engage with the company.
On Tuesday, loyal customers had the unique opportunity to meet their favorite Inooro FM presenters during the caravan's stopovers. Various prizes were handed out, with boda boda riders particularly benefiting from giveaways aimed at promoting road safety.
Rahab Watari, one of the lucky winners, recounted how she heard about the caravan on Inooro TV and decided to seize the opportunity. Her efforts paid off when she walked away with a special prize.
"Niliskia hii matangazo kwa Inooro…nikasema nikuje na nimepata Krismasi ya mapema…nimeshinda mbuzi mzima," said an elated Watari.
In Mukurweini, the excitement continued as customers eagerly awaited the caravan’s arrival. Among the winners was Gerald Mwangi, who has been a Safaricom customer for 24 years. Mwangi proudly displayed his first Safaricom recharge card, purchased back in 2000, and expressed joy at winning a new phone.
"Nimekua customer wa Safaricom for long…hii card ni ile airtime ya kwanza ya Safaricom nili-buy in 2000. Na leo nimeshinda simu mpya…ii simu mzee nilipata na Bonga Points 14 years ago…yaani mimi ni mtu wa Safaricom kabisa," Mwangi said.
Safaricom Corporate Security Manager, Nick Mulila, reassured customers of the company’s commitment to their safety, addressing concerns about fraud and promising robust measures to protect customer data.
In Karatina Town, despite light rain, residents turned out in large numbers to interact with Safaricom staff and Royal Media presenters. These interactions provided an opportunity to learn about Safaricom products and voice any concerns. One lucky winner, Peter Mwangi, marked his birthday with a special gift from the caravan.
"Leo ni birthday yangu. Nimekuja hapa na Safaricom wamenipea mbuzi…I am very happy," said Mwangi.
The caravan will resume its journey on Wednesday, starting in Nyeri Town and proceeding to Mweiga, Chaka, Narumoru, Nanyuki, Timau, and other towns, spreading more joy and rewards along the way.
