A suspected Teachers Service Commission (TSC) impostor was arraigned in court today, accused of defrauding an education graduate by promising to secure her a job with the TSC.

Beautris Mutwa Nzambu appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi, facing charges of obtaining Ksh 350,000 from Faith Mbone under false pretenses.

According to the charge sheet, Nzambu, on various dates between July 9 and 10, 2024, in Nairobi, fraudulently acquired the funds by falsely claiming she could facilitate Mbone's employment at the TSC—a claim she allegedly knew to be untrue.

The suspect denied the charges, with her defense team appealing for leniency, citing her clean criminal record.

The court released Nzambu on a bond of Ksh 250,000 or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 150,000.
