The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister, and a senior Hamas leader, Ibrahim Al-Masri, also known as Mohammed Deif.
The charges stem from alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity linked to the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks on Israel and the subsequent Israeli military operations in Gaza.
The ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan, initially requested these warrants on May 20, citing grave violations. Despite Israel's rejection of the court's jurisdiction and its denial of committing war crimes, the ICC emphasized that Israel's consent to its authority was unnecessary.
