Tragedy has struck Nabing'enge village in Milima Ward, Bungoma County, following the death of an 88-year-old man after a bee attack.
Alfred Muchele, the victim, was attacked by a swarm of bees at Nabing'enge market and later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Naitiri Hospital early Friday morning, according to local sources led by Patrick Wekesa.
The deceased’s son, John Wekesa, has appealed to the government for support with funeral arrangements, citing the family's financial challenges.
Residents, including Pastor Isaac Mutali, expressed their deep sorrow over the loss, describing Muchele as a respected elder who played a vital role in the village's development.
The incident has left the community mourning a cherished figure and calling for interventions to ensure such unfortunate events are minimized in the future.
