The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recommended prosecuting prominent individuals, including current and former public officials, over alleged corruption and conflict of interest cases.
These recommendations are part of the EACC's third quarterly report for 2024, covering investigations conducted between July and September.
The report highlights fraudulent dealings involving county governments, state officials, and private entities, revealing extensive misuse of public funds through proxy companies. The files have been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for action.
Key figures include former Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud, his wife Kheira Omar Maalim, and their daughter Farhiya Abdi Mohamud. The trio is accused of abuse of office and conflict of interest involving Ksh 902.4 million linked to 12 companies during the 2017/18 financial year.

The EACC has implicated Boss, alongside other judiciary officials, over questionable payments related to prefabricated court constructions.
Former Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos and his associates face allegations of awarding tenders to a company, Kobcom Petroleum Limited, linked to Tolgos. The company irregularly secured contracts worth Ksh 1.7 million to supply petroleum products to the county.
Additionally, senior officials at the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA) are under investigation for conflicts of interest totaling Ksh 273.2 million. The EACC has flagged these cases, bringing the total value of recommended prosecutions to Ksh 2.048 billion.
