Police officers have arrested a 40-year-old hawker for allegedly defiling his 11-year-old niece at Shauri Yako Estate in the Arujo sub-location of Homa Bay County.
According to reports, the youngster intimated to a neighbor that the father had been defiling her on many occasions.
According to local assistant chief Jackton Olielo, one of the neighbors grew suspicious and went to his residence, where he caught him in the act with the girl before notifying him.
According to Olielo, the individual frequently defiled the minor in his care.
The man separated from his wife following a personal dispute and abducted the child after her mother died. The minor's father has a chronic disease.

The administrator apprehended the suspect and sent him to authorities at the Homa-Bay authorities Station for further action.
According to Olielo, the suspect is still detained at the police station, while the girl has been brought to a safe area for victims of gender-based abuse.
