Bonfire Adventures founders Simon Kabu and Sarah Njoki are locked in a heated legal battle, marked by allegations of infidelity, abuse, and business mismanagement. Sarah has accused Simon of cruelty, conflicts of interest, and gender-based violence.
Represented by her lawyer, Mwenda Njagi, Sarah is seeking the dismissal of a defamation case filed by Simon. She argues that the case is baseless and a tactic to suppress her allegations about his behavior.
Court documents reveal that in a December 18, 2024, memo circulated to 150 employees, Sarah accused Simon of mismanaging their travel company and engaging in unethical business practices that harmed its reputation.

Sarah further alleges that Simon is diverting clients and employees to a new company he is establishing. She claims he is not the true founder of Bonfire Adventures, arguing that she originally conceived the idea.
Additionally, Sarah accuses Simon of corruption and serious criminal activities, including orchestrating forced abductions and disappearances of individuals who oppose him within the company, as stated in court filings.
In CCTV footage from November 21, 2024, Sarah stated during a company staff meeting that Simon was secretly launching a new business with their daughter, undermining Bonfire Adventures from within.
Another video from November 20, 2024, shows Sarah accusing Simon of acting as a mole within the company, engaging in cartel-like activities, and deliberately sabotaging the firm’s operations for personal gain.
On December 9, 2024, during a press conference, Sarah claimed Simon had subjected her to life-threatening domestic violence, further escalating the public nature of their ongoing legal dispute.
Judge Janet Mulwa has extended a court order barring Sarah from making any defamatory statements against Simon. She is prohibited from using media, including social platforms, to share damaging claims.
Simon maintains that Sarah’s allegations are baseless and part of a malicious campaign against him. He asserts that he has endured these accusations in silence but now seeks legal redress to defend his reputation.
