Detectives have confirmed that a body discovered in Makongo Forest along the Machakos-Wote road belongs to Campbell Scott, a British national who went missing in Nairobi last week.

Scott, a 58-year-old senior director at global data analytics firm FICO, was last seen on Monday, February 17, at 11:15 AM while on a business trip to Kenya.

He had scheduled meetings with officials from the US, the UK, and multiple African nations. When he became unreachable later that day, concerned individuals reported his disappearance to authorities.

On Saturday, February 22, local herders stumbled upon a sack containing a decomposing body in Makongo Forest. Upon arrival, investigators found the remains bound with ropes and the face severely burned, leading them to suspect an attempt to obscure the victim’s identity.

Authorities also discovered pineapples around the scene, which they believe could have been placed there to mislead investigators.

Francis Kanyaa, the area assistant chief, initially stated that identifying the body was difficult. The remains were transported to Makueni Referral Hospital for further analysis.

By Monday, February 24, homicide detectives revisited the site, gathering additional evidence. Sources later confirmed to Citizen Digital that the remains had been positively identified as Campbell Scott’s.
