President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have formalized a political alliance, marking a significant step toward national unity and cooperation within the government.
The historic agreement between Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was officially signed on Friday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The two leaders, alongside their respective party officials, appended their signatures to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signaling their commitment to collaboration.
Speaking after the signing, ODM National Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga praised the partnership, emphasizing its importance in prioritizing national interests over individual ambitions. She highlighted the significance of unity, equity, and inclusivity in building a prosperous Kenya.
“This agreement transcends personal or political gain. It represents an opportunity for young people, women, and marginalized communities to feel truly included in the nation’s progress,” Wanga stated.

“Today serves as a reminder that Kenya’s future is greater than any individual or political party. Unlike past agreements shrouded in secrecy, this MoU was signed openly, ensuring full transparency and public awareness,” Mbarire remarked.
She further acknowledged the extensive consultations that took place before finalizing the agreement, reinforcing its legitimacy and broad acceptance.
