Popular American YouTuber and philanthropist MrBeast, born James Stephen, has captured the hearts of many Kenyans following a transformative project at Oloirien Primary School in Narok County.

Upon arriving at the school, he immediately upgraded the learning environment and launched a sustainable food program to fight hunger and boost school attendance.

MrBeast, known for using YouTube revenue to fund charitable missions, pledged in his April 12 video to feed as many people as the number of views it receives. “By watching, you're helping us provide farmland, modern kitchens, and food-secure schools while protecting children from labor,” he stated.

His intervention began with new desks for the pupils, replacing the cold, dusty floors they previously used. The donation of proper furniture saw jubilant reactions from students, many of whom had been sharing limited desks.

To sustain the food initiative, MrBeast equipped the local community with advanced farming tools, including a tractor, greenhouse, and water infrastructure. A section of the farm is now solely dedicated to providing food for the school, while a truck ensures any surplus is delivered to local markets.

The school also received a new, spacious kitchen to support a two-meal-per-day program, along with a well and a large water tank to ensure a consistent water supply.

By the end of the project, Mr. Beast left the school with food supplies capable of serving 100,000 meals. Beyond Kenya, he’s rolled out similar humanitarian projects in Ghana, Uganda, Somalia, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe—focusing on clean water, school supplies, and transport.
