A fatal road accident claimed the lives of four individuals in the early hours of Saturday morning in Ruiru, located in Kiambu County.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. near the Membley area when a private car collided with a stationary trailer parked along the roadside.

According to reports, all four passengers in the vehicle died instantly due to the severity of the impact.

Preliminary investigations suggest that high speed may have played a significant role in the crash, leaving the driver with insufficient time to react upon encountering the stalled trailer.

Additional factors believed to have contributed to the accident include poor visibility caused by non-functional street lights and the alleged failure of the trailer's driver to place proper warning signs to alert oncoming motorists.
