Fred Matiangi, a former interior cabinet secretary, has denounced a late-night police raid at his residence and stated he is prepared to face any accusations.

His attorneys, led by Danstan Omari, camped out at the Karen home during the raid and claimed their client's life was in danger. They also accused the police of harassing them.

"We don't know why someone would want to break into Matiang'i's house this late at night. We don't know where they intend to take him, what crime he may have done, or where they intend to take him," Omari said.

However, Omari clarified that if accusations arise against him, their client is prepared to be called in, appear at any police station, and provide a statement.

He asserted that the only reason he and his client were present at Matiangi's house was to defend the client legally.

"We'll fight tooth and nail to uphold our client. He declared that as long as Matiang'i is secure, we are all willing to be taken into custody.

There are no documents put on display to have been served to the attorneys after the police officers left after they arrived.

The raid has not received a formal response from police or DCI headquarters, but sources claimed it might be in connection to the Ruaraka property dispute.

The incident happened a week after Matiangi and former President Uhuru Kenyatta visited the residence of the late former Education CS George Magoha with former PS Karanja Kibicho and other former ministers.

When past leaders sent their condolences on January 31, Matiangi was one of them.

Although the cause of Matiangi's current situation is unknown, his criticism of the administration, in his words, may have sealed his destiny.

After his comments at Magoha's house a few days later, security for Matiangi and other influential people who worked for former president Kenyatta was reduced.
