An accident in South Africa's northern province of Limpopo between an armoured truck and a bus has left 20 people dead and over 6o others injured.
According to an official statement from the police department on Monday, twenty people were tragically killed in an accident in which a cash-carrying armoured truck lost control and collided head-on with an oncoming bus on a highway.
The report also indicates that ten others are in critical condition and receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Reports from witnesses at the scene indicate that after the head-on collision, the bus rolled and plunged into the river.
The police department spokesperson says that the cause of the accident is still unknown and that investigations are still ongoing. Still, they suspect heavy downpours in the area could have contributed to the accident. The department is also conducting searches in the nearby river to recover passengers who might have drowned or been swept away by the floods.
