The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has summoned city lawyer danstan omari to answer questions about an alleged raid at his client's house, the former interior cs fred matiangi.
In a letter addressed to the lawyer by detective Michael K. Sang, omari was asked to submit himself to their offices on Wednesday, February 22, without fail.
According to the officer, he is "investigating allegations of Publication of False Information contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act 2018, amongst other offences, in relation to the alleged invasion and raid of the former Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Co-ordination, Dr. Fred Matiang'i's residence on the 8th and 9th of February 2023 allegedly by a "battalion" and/or "garrison" of police officers."
Danstan Omari is the lawyer representing fred matiangi in an alleged raid at the former cs house. The DCI is accusing matiangi of faking the invasion at his home for political mileage. The interior cs fred matiangi ordered a second raid to matiangis house to get the CCTV of the alleged incident.

Matiangi and his lawyer insist that the attack happened and that the current regime is trying to intimidate him for not supporting them. The raid on the matiangis house was condemned by leaders of the opposition, terming it as the country going back to the ages when there was no democracy in the country. They asked the president to refrain from political revenge.
