Gusii leaders have vowed to cooperate with the government on behalf of the populace.

Residents of Gusii embrace the national development program aimed at improving their lives, according to the leaders led by Kisii governor Simba Arati.

According to Arati, the Kisii County government is updating its county development plan to reflect the development priorities of the federal government.

"We are eager to cooperate with you. Cooking pots like those in Nairobi won't be visible in our heads", he said.

President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were present when they spoke during a consultative meeting at the Kisii State Lodge.

They were Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo, Solicitor General Shadrack John Mose, CAS Milicent Omanga, Deputy Governors Robert Monda (Kisii) and James Gesami (Nyamira) (Nyamira).


Other lawmakers included Stephen Mogaka (West Mugirango), Anyieni Okenyuri (nominated), Gloria Orwoba (selected), Zaheer Jhanda (Nyaribari Chache), Doris Aburi (Kisii County), Richard Onyonka (Kisii County), Charles Onchoke (Bonchari), Daniel Manduku (Nyaribari Masaba), Alpha Miruka (Bomachoge Chache), Jerusha Mom (Bobasi).

Mr Machogu declared that he would use the chance to serve his country as Cabinet Secretary.

Mr Gachagua urged Gusii leadership to rally the community behind the administration and champion the people's development ambitions.

"You have a responsibility to guide this community and lead it in the right direction. If you inspire them to protest, history will be hard on you".

President Ruto stated that he is prepared to work with all elected officials to change the nation.

"I will collaborate with all elected officials from opposing political parties on issues that may be developed without political middlemen".

"They are free to pursue growth on behalf of the people who elected them", he continued.

He urged the Gusii community to support the government's affordable housing program to lessen land segregation in the county.
