The head of the Narc-Kenya party, Martha Karua, has criticized Police Inspector General Japhet Koome for saying Azimio la Umoja's planned protests are illegal.
Karua urged Kenyans to participate in the protests on Monday in large numbers since they are legally allowed to do so during a church service on Sunday at the Jesus Teaching Ministry.
No harm will occur to any of the protesters or us. According to our constitution, she declared that we would march in silence and not listen to any messages that would cause us to stumble.
Karua stated that it is not the responsibility of the police to authorize demonstrations while speaking to IG Koome.

"Like us, you will uphold the constitution. The constitution states that we must give notice rather than request permission to demonstrate, according to Karua.
"We haven't requested your consent; the constitution guarantees it. Quit interfering with our nonviolent protests. You will be cursed if you stir any trouble, she added.
In case the protests on Monday were unlawful, the leader of the Narc-Kenya party dared the IG to arrest her.
"You said you could handcuff us tomorrow; please come and shackle me. You'll have my hands tied without a hitch tomorrow. But the day will come when you'll be handcuffed because of your errors. Karua responded, "You will be punished following the constitution. I faced threats from the Moi dictatorship and will not be intimidated now.
She warned President William Ruto about his role in supervising human rights abuses in Kenya.
"Why do you fear the people if you were properly elected? Open the servers if you were legitimately elected."
