According to Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, the coalition visited Northlands Farm, a residence owned by the former first family, the Kenyatta Family, not because it was connected to the former president Uhuru Kenyatta, but rather because what happened yesterday caught their attention.
Raila told the media while on the farm that he had a chance to speak with Uhuru before coming there but pointed out that he was not in Nairobi.
He continued by defending police officers who were absent yesterday when hundreds of goons broke onto the farm, felled trees, and fled with dozens of animals, claiming they were following orders and had not been deployed to guard the site.

The former prime minister alleged that the events at Northlands Farm and his gas plant in Industrial Area orders came from vice president Rigathi Gachagua and other high government officials.
"Uhuru Kenyatta is the reason we are not present even though we have not spoken to him. We came here after learning that more than 500 people broke into the farm yesterday. We also witnessed fire burning down trees on TV, which is why we came. We have apologized for the loss of property to Uhuru and his family even though they are not in Nairobi."
"The cops cannot arrive if senior government officials are responsible. Since they weren't sent here, I don't want to point the finger upon the cops."
