Raila Odinga alias baba, the leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party, has accused foreign embassies in Kenya of being political regarding democratic issues.
Mr Odinga claims that foreign missions have chosen to concentrate on politics at the price of democracy instead of focusing on both development and democracy.
Speaking on Friday at the funeral service for the late Grace Aketch Onyango, the country's first female member of parliament, who lived in the Kodiaga neighbourhood of the Gem Constituency in Siaya County, Mr Odinga lamented the alleged disregard by Western nations for calls for Kenya to strengthen its democracy and electoral justice system.
He says, "the so-called development partners have refused to listen to our requests for more democracy in our country and have instead focused on business."

The opposition leader praised Meg Whitman, the U.S. ambassador to Kenya, for denouncing the abuse of journalists by law enforcement during Thursday's demonstrations. Still, he added that she ignored the vicious assault on him and the Azimio team.
When we first met, he remarked, "I told her the Ruto administration was illegal and that if he believes he won the August 9, 2022 presidential election free and fairly, he should expose the IEBC servers so Kenyans may know who won the poll."
Instead of what he labels "praising" President William Ruto's administration, he urged Western nations to pay attention to Kenyans' pleas and assist in finding solutions to their issues.
In addition, Mr Odinga criticized the Ruto administration for allegedly establishing a police state by sending many cops to the Azimio protests.
"Let me tell you, we're going to have the biggest protest ever in Nairobi on Monday. We are unafraid, so I implore Kenyans to come out in greater numbers and from all walks of life to peacefully fight for their rights "Raila said.
Despite evidence to support the claims, Azimio co-principal Martha Karua stated that it was disappointing that Western nations have not yet addressed the purported attempt on Mr Odinga's life.
"The top command gave the order to fire on our leader's vehicle, and I want to warn the cops being utilized that they will be held entirely accountable for what they are doing; it may take years, but it will come back to haunt you ", She spoke.
