The new episode of "The Kardashians" that aired on Hulu was emotional as it showed Travis Barker's marriage proposal to Kourtney Kardashian.

The marriage proposal left a bitter-sweet taste in Kourtney's mouth as she opened up about her children not being involved in the surprise.

Why Kourtney's Kids Were Missing At The Proposal

Kardashian, 43, got engaged to her lover, Travis Barker, 46, in October last year in a beach proposal at a hotel in Montecito, California.

Barker proposed to her at the beachside on one knee. Upon saying yes, Kardashian was walked into a suite at a hotel where her sisters, Kim, Kendall and Kylie, were.

Her mom, Kris Jenner, and Barker's kids Alabama, 16, Atiana 23, and Landan also attended the engagement dinner.

However, Kardashian's three kids whom she has sired with Scott Disick, Reign, 7, Penelope, 9, and Mason, 12, were missing from the marriage proposal.

How The Kids Reacted To The Engagement

On learning her kids were not invited, in a confession in the episode, Kardashian said she wished her kids were present at the engagement surprise and for them to feel involved.

The kids were missing from the marriage proposal because Kardashian's mum, Kris Jenner, decided not to invite them during the show's production.

In the show, Jenner says it's Kourtney's place to give Barker the news of her engagement the way she wants.

She also defends her decision during the celebration by saying, "For us to lie to Scott and the kids and bring them here under false pretence would've been hard for all of us. This is the right thing to do, and they are all adults.”

In the episode, Kardashian called her kids on the phone alongside her sister Kim away from the engagement dinner to share the news of her proposal. Her daughter Penelope took it hard and cried, then hung up on her.

"She does not know what that means."

Scott Disick's Opinion On The Engagement

Scott Disick is the father of Kourtney Kardashians' three children. Just like the kids, he wasn't invited to the event either.

Khloe revealed at the engagement dinner that Disick was aware of the proposal while speaking to her sister Kendall Jenner.

While recalling her conversation with Scott, Khloe confirmed that he knew about the engagement and had raised concerns about why he was being kicked out when he is not involved in the family and wondered why his kids were not part of the surprise Not clear. Kicked out or not invited?

However, the Kardashians said the kids were not involved because they were too young.

Khloe Kardashian Defends Her Mother's Decision

In a tweet, Khloe defended her mother's decision not to invite Kourtney's children with Disick on the marriage proposal, saying she did her best.

"I don't think anyone knew the right thing to do in this situation, I think my mom did her best." she tweeted.
